audio recorder does not show the line-in (input device) in the source drop down list

Hi Moma,

Audio recorder sources drop down lists:
 -- Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (Microphone)
 -- Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (Audio output)
 -- System''s default device
 -- User defined audio source

Using "Additional setting"->"DeviceSettings" on the "Recording devices for User defined audio source:" lists:
 -- Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (Microphone)
 -- Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (Audio output)

On PulseAudio Volume Control "Input Devices" -> "port:" drop down lists: ("Show:" is set to "All Except Monitors")
 -- Microphone (plugged in)
 -- Line In (plugged in)

How can I get the Audio recorder source list Line in (plugged in)?

Hello,
Please take a listing of (recordable) source-devices with the pactl command:

$ pactl list | grep -A3 'Source #'
$ pactl list short sources | cut -f2

Can you see all devices in the list?

You may test and experiment with the devices from command line,
See: [Addition settings] -> Recording commands -> [Show Cmd] button.

R-hi Mohammad,

Does it work if you plugin your microphone to your system and record from "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" device? Its device ID is alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo. This is probably marked as "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (Microphone)" in the audio-recorder.

The other device (alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo.monitor) is your sound card with loudspeakers. You can also record audio that goes to the loudspeakers. This is probably marked as "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (Audio output)" in the audio-recorder.
