repeating task deadline for early completed tasks

Asked by duck

Completing tasks early does currently not advance the deadline from when the task was completed, but from the deadline.. I'd like a switch to select either behavior; advance from the deadline or advance from now. (the actual reason is that I sometimes swap my contact lenses before I have to ;-)

this sounds like a worthwhile setting to add. I cannot promise when it will work its way in but I think it could be helpful. The question would be whether it would be a general setting or particular to each repeating task. We may also be limited by who we choose to synchronize with since our repeating task behavior probably should diverge too much from them.

A general setting seems rather needlessly limiting to me. I don't know about the synchronizing issue though.

I, too, would like to see this feature added. Priority: top. My example of need is identical to duck's expect in "advance from now" most often finds me of the other side of the deadline: I make my appointment with the dentist *after* the deadline for doing so. I'm switching from a Treo 650 to the Droid, and the Task (todo) app on that device has this feature and I use it "all the time."
