Artha on Win7 x64 uses 100% of one CPU on a dual core laptop

Asked by Grant Coady

Artha on Win7 x64 uses 100% of one CPU on a dual core laptop.

Noticed the dual core laptop eating 50% of CPU while Artha was in the background after being used and (I thought) terminated. This is very poor operation for a nice, useful utility. Poor laptop had the fan running on high to get rid of the heat.

Please fix, would seem to a polling loop or so? When on for ages, hours, before I noticed the heat and killed the background process tree. Happy to do any testing, though I don't have a windows toolchain for doing anything sensible in the code.

Hi Grant,
Thanks for notifying this, I wouldn't have noticed this without your question. The cause for it is identified; (the fix will go in to the codebase today). Hence it'll be part of the next release.

I just encountered this problem regularly. Hope the next release will be soon. The latest stable release is two years ago.

Artha 1.0.3 is out now and is with the fix for this CPU pegging issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1010930) :)

Can you help with this problem?
