Arista Transcoder

Convert only a part of a video

Hello,

I would like to be able to use Arista to convert only a part of a video (e.g. a scene). Is that feature intended to be added in the future?

I've been meaning to add this to the todo (blueprints) for a while, but I'm not sure how to get a list of DVD titles or chapters just yet. For now you can use the terminal client like so:

arista-transcode dvd:///dev/cdrom@1 output.mp4

Where /dev/cdrom is replaced with your DVD device and 1 is replaced with the title you wish to encode.

I've opened a blueprint for this feature: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/arista/+spec/dvd-titles-chapters

I am not sure yet when or how this will be implemented.
