password forgotten

I have forgotten the password to open de ring of keys and an aplicacion to be done needs this password. I meen to make a copy of segurity, actualizations, install a new program from ubunto shop, ... I think is an encripted password and also when I start using internet (Iuse modem) when I star writing frecuentlly the screen is blocked. Thank you for your help.
