Best way of using pod variables in LibreOffice

I've been using Conditional Text to store my appy "variables" in pod templates. However the latest version of LO displays

Conditional text True MyVariableName

This is really long, which makes formatting too difficult. Do you know any better way?

Oh I'm dumb. View, Uncheck field names solves this.

So I think conditional text is in fact the best way.
