Advanced deployment options don't work

Is there an updated AppScaleUserManual or some other accurate source of the options for the ips.yaml file?
A deployment such as:
:master: 192.168.1.2
:appengine:
- 192.168.1.3
:database:
- 192.168.1.4
as documented in the AppScaleUsermanual ends up hanging Also, it creates the zookeeper on the database node, and not on the master node. If zookeeper is explicitly specified, it creates zookeeper on both nodes. I'm using Cassandra to avoid the use of zookeeper by the datastores themselves.
