How to generate a new app database index?

Asked by Eduard Gotwig

Hey, after I first ran appcenter with sudio, I tought it would generate the database index somehow for me, but all I see are empty categories with no apps in the appcenter.

How can i (re)generate the app database index?

install app-install-data and packagekit packages, then delete /var/cache/appcenter-packages.db and run appcenter with sudo again. If you will have no apps in AppCenter main view you should reboot the system. This is the only solution for now.

After manual "sudo appcenter"

I get the following:

[_LOG_LEVEL_DEBUG 14:14:38.238031] [PackageKit] emit transaction-list-changed
[_LOG_LEVEL_WARN 14:14:38.238123] DBManager.vala:136: Error: Package name qtodo could not be resolved.
[_LOG_LEVEL_WARN 14:14:38.240820] AppsManager.vala:273: Problems building the database, aborting here

It does still not work, it only worked for me when trying to build manual with the sources
