unable to sync vusys i-dj 670

Asked by rob dlp

I have a Vusys i-DJ 670 hard disk media player. I am able to transfer files to it using drag and drop functionality but these are not recognised by the players library/search functions. I am trying to sync the player with Amarok to resolve this but have been unable to do so successfully.

Can you offer any help?

Many thanks
Rob

I was searching almost everywhere but I can't find a datasheet which lists the sync protocol one can use. So if you got a manual you might have a look for a data table and search for *protocol (probably transfer protocol or sync protocol).
If you can't find anything, you might just try all protocols support by Amarok (i.e. configure the device in Amarok to be an MTP-Device - which is btw, what I assume it is using).

Now, if this shouldn't work either it's not working at all. :|

The user manual has no detail on anything other than basic operation. I have tried all the configeration options available under Amarok and have installed win xp on vmware server to try and install and run the proprietary software to allow the player to sync with this. However, for some reason the software will not detect the player via vmware. As this looks to be my best option I am pursuing this in the first instance.

Well, you can still ask in the Amarok forums (http://amarok.kde.org/forum) or on IRC whether someone else got such a device and sucessfully syncs it to Amarok.

Can you help with this problem?
