How do I install the latest version please?

Asked by Nibinaear

I'm using 0.69 but it doesn't seem to work with 10.04 LL on Gnome? Well anyway, I was told to get the newer version from the website but I'm out of my depth. I've found the 0.71a release but it's in a tar.gz file and it's source code or something.

I ran the add-apt-repository command to add the ppa for alltray, and ran an update (not bad considering I first installed Ubuntu 1month ago!) I generally use Synaptic to install stuff and there's nothing new in there, so how do I get this onto my system then?

I'd prefer to use a GUI or something simple and not have to compile source code if possible. :)

You can install alltray from this repository: http://asher256-repository.tuxfamily.org/

If you don't know how to add a repository, just follow the instructions in the FAQ on the repository website. When you correctly added it, and updated your repository list, you should be able to install alltray by typing the following into your terminal: sudo apt-get install alltray

Best of luck.
