Possible to make alarm go off when computer is set to "hibernate" or "suspend" ?

Asked by Andersmartini2 on 2010-11-07

I dont like sleeping with my laptop running next to me, the fans are annoying. So I was wondering If its possible to have the alarmclock start the computer from sleep-mode (Hibernate or suspend as they are called in Ubuntu) and then start the alarm to wake me up?

Would be the ultimate alarmclock-solution if its possible!

Alarm clock works very well but this would be a plus feature request because when the computer is locked then the alarm doesn't work unless you login which is not very helpful

Is there any trick can be done in Ubuntu so that the alarm goes off when computer is in standby?

Cheers

@Carlos: Depends on your hardware. Check out the docs linked from the blueprint https://blueprints.launchpad.net/alarm-clock/+spec/suspend-wakeup
