Notification buttons.

Asked by Hans Moleman

Hi, i use this applet to notify me every day and like it very much.
But the pop-up window give me 4 possibilities that make the same thing:
-close window button(X)
-clear
-cancel and
-ok
This is not the case to make it smart and clean the layout with just one button?

Thanks.

Hi, which version of alarm-clock-applet are you using? Version 0.3 greatly simplifies the notification dialog - if you're on Ubuntu, see https://launchpad.net/~joh/+archive/ppa for installation instructions :-)

The pop-ups in 0.3 have been changed to work better with notify-osd - the Ubuntu notification bubbles (in the top right corner.) Are you not seeing such a bubble when an alarm is triggered?

I can see the notify-osd, but it goes away in a few secods, i'm planning to schedule my medicine so something more explicit would be important.

Thanks Johannes.

You could have the alarm play a sound on repeat..? Notify-osd does not allow the notification duration to be changed, so the bubble will fade away after a few seconds.

I can't help with this problem, but would like to comment that the notification popup being a persistent window is a very important part of the functionality for me. I don't always have the volume up, and I don't watch for the notify-osd, but I count on a reminder to try remind me until I say Okay or clear or whatever. Actually, I'm quite glad I saw this thread, I'll be sticking with 2.6.

Can you help with this problem?
