Asked by Jakub Jankiewicz on 2011-03-15

  • For what they are use for?
  • How they work?
  • What is the difference between application and widgets with url that have custom output enabled?
  • Is there any reason why I need to create an app instead of a widget?
  • Can I create one using an API or I need to hack database or create a widget for creating applications?

 • For what they are use for?

they are used for users to be able to group few widgets and forms and export in order to install on other aiki installation

  • How they work?

currently there is an export function in bot.php but it's still under development that's why they are not exposed

  • What is the difference between application and widgets with url that have custom output enabled?

an application can have many widgets, forms and custom php files

  • Is there any reason why I need to create an app instead of a widget?

no again unless your application has many widgets. you use apps to group them

  • Can I create one using an API or I need to hack database or create a widget for creating applications?

once the features in bot.php are ready can easily add field for it in the admin panel
