Obviously, you need to have bzr-builddeb installed.
sudo aptitude install bzr-builddeb

bzr checkout https://code.launchpad.net/~aeromodelling-maintainers/aeromodelling-project/avl-debian
cd avl-debian/avl
bzr builddeb --builder=debuild
