Help on installing ADCH++ on Windows

Asked by Seth Gordon

Hi, i'm a total novice at this and need some help installing ADCH++ on Win 7 64bit. I've installed adchpp-2.9.0_win32_x86_installer on my computer and followed the basic guide provided in the readme text then edited the adchpp.xml file.

The only thing i changed in that file was the line that reads <Server Port="2113"/>. I changed it to "<Server Port="adc://myhubname.no-ip.org:1894"/>.

I then ran ADCH++ and this is what it looks like

I then enter the hub info into airdc++ 2.44 64bit and try to connect and it just tries to connect but eventually times out.
This is what i see on my end
[09:47:44] *** Connecting to adc://myhubname.no-ip.org:1894 ...
[09:47:45] *** Connected

and that just keeps on going on until i close out that window. Am i missing a step(s) and/or doing something wrong? I didn't create an account or anything yet, i just wanted to see if i could connect to the server and at least get a rejection of connection due to wrong user id/password.

Why'd you put your whole hub address to a field for specifying the hub's listening port?

That's a great question. I think i was under the assumption that i needed to post the hub address along with the port due to the example given but i guess it was just meant for the dc++ client and not the xml file. Thanks a bunch, man. Am connected now :D
