unable to login to owncloud, get Invalid host URL

I have just flashed Ubuntu-touch onto a Meizu Pro 5. I keep my calendar and contacts on a Nextcloud server, but when I try to login to the Owncloud online account I keep getting an 'Invalid host URL' error. I can log into Nextcloud through the browser, but when I try to download a document I get a 'httperror 503 service unavailable' error.
I think this may be to do with the SSL cypher suites that my server accepts. Is there a particular setting I require in my ssl configuration?
