GL screensavers slow <> glmark2-es2 very fast

Hi,
I installed lubuntu on my ac100 folloeing the very good instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/TEGRA/AC100
This worked great. I also enabled the proprietary nvidia driver, and the test program glmark2-es2 is showing very fluid graphics, at about 90 FPS. So this looks to be working.
However all xscreensaver-gl and -extra are very slow, clearly rendering on cpu.
I've found a file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/61-tegra-gpu.conf, and commented-out the line Disable "glx", to no effect,
xscreensaver-gl-helper returns 0x21

The video drivers do not support OpenGL, only OpenGL/ES which is a subset of it. So conventional programs using OpenGL will use the software path. You need some OpenGL/ES apps.

thanks. As far as xscreensaver is concerned, Is it correct to say that the choice for openGL or openGL-ES lies with the individual screensaver plugin and is not dictated by the xscreensaver package itself? If so, do you know of any openGL-ES-only screensaver plugins that I could use with xscreensaver?

AFAIK, xscreensaver does not support opengl/es (it is a bit different api and you need to like against different libraries, libGLES instead of libGL). You can take a look at http://www.jwz.org/blog/2012/06/i-have-ported-xscreensaver-to-the-iphone/ so see how much work it is.
