Feature Request: Drawing composition via aggregation/containment

Asked by Todd

It would be very cool if you could define drawings, and then reference them ala PIC's define{} macro.

The idea is that you could define objects like so:

define MyBox {
+-----+
| $1 |
+-----+
}

define MyBoxes {
MyBox -> MyBox
}

MyBoxes ("Hello")

==================
outputs
==================
+-----+ +-----+
| Hello| --> | Hello |
+-----+ +------+

This way you could develop arbitrarily complex drawings, create common image libraries, etc.

I also had similar thoughts, but it would not be WYSIWYG.

Something like that would be more like a description language that can be turned into an image. There are already other tools that work like that. But it is not what I had in mind when creating aafigure.

Can you help with this problem?
