unetbootin will not launch

Asked by Nolan Cooper

I downloaded unetbootin as the normal user to my Download directory.
The as root moved the script to /root/tools and `chmod +x' and `chown root:root'.
As root in tools directory: `./unetbootin', a one or one and a half second pause then
command line appears again. No error messages, nothing! Checked dmesg, sysemlog,
an a couple of others just in case, Nothing.

Wheezy-7.5 up-to-date.

I have read all post relating to my problem in any way.
Thanks for any help you might give.
Nolan

are you running 64-bit debian? could you try installing the ia32-libs package?

Yes to the 64.
And the latest @608.
Will try loading the ia32 lib.
