Sane backend for Mustek MFS6000CX (SCSI)

Asked by halfprice5

I'm new to Linux command line and manual setup but overall I love Ubuntu.

I have a Mustek MFS 6000CX using the SCSI port on the scanner I'm trying to install, I have sane and utl's installed and I can see the Adaptec 2940 being installed and the scanner as the system boots. Xsane nor sudo sane-find-scanner can see the Mustek. It would seem I need another back end/driver for sane to access the Mustek.

I have been unable to determine the correct backend or how to install it if I could find it.

At this point I'm dead in the water without some help.

Thanks

This might be a good starting point: http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/intrepid/man5/sane-mustek.5.html

Hope this helps

I have been reading/trying things for a week. I've read everything I can find on sane, xsane, SCSI(started out my system would not see the SCSI card) I have searched with every permutation of sane, mustek, scsi, scanner etc I can think of.

I can't seem to put the sparce(or my inexpreance can not read between the lines) Info togather.

I can with some confidence say I've read everything I can find based on my searches, and any links contained in them.

Give me some steps, I'll follow them
