Updaten auch für 22.04 LTS jammy?

Asked by Michael Baumgartner

Hello there,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It's not uncommon for packages in LTS versions of Ubuntu to be a bit outdated as the focus is on stability rather than bleeding-edge software. However, it's important to keep packages up-to-date to ensure that users have access to the latest features and security updates.

One option would be to file a bug report with Ubuntu's bug tracking system. This will allow Ubuntu's developers to be aware of the issue and prioritize updating the package. To file a bug report, you can follow the instructions on the Ubuntu website.

Another option would be to contribute to the Ubuntu package repository by creating an updated package for reuse. This would involve creating a new package with the updated software and submitting it to Ubuntu's package repository. This process can be complex, but there are resources available to help, such as the Ubuntu Packaging Guide.

In the meantime, if you need to use the latest version of reuse, you can install it from the source code or from a different package repository.

[Best Regards]

I thought about creating an updated package, but doesn't find time to do so. Also in the semester break I couldn't introduce myself to this topic.
So I created a issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/reuse/+bug/2033989
