FAQ #3037, states new released get updates, which is not the case for this packages. There is no update between LTS 20.04 and LTS 22.04.

In the Bug report the same questen is still unanswered, why keeping an insecure packed in a new LTS version.

I can understand, that updating is a lot of work, but a new LTS version should be uptoday at least as it is published.

Thanks for the anwser

You have to take also into account that Ubuntu is copying packages from Debian, usually the version that is in unstable or testing, but not the one in experimental. AT the time of "Debian import freeze" for Ubuntu 22.04, the version in Debian unstable was 3.4.4, see the history in https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/libpod So the version was up-to-date in Ubuntu terms at publication date of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

libpod is in the "universe" category, that means that it is community-maintained.
Everybody, including you, is invited to work on that package and to implement patches for the bugs in the version in jammy.

Can you help with this problem?
