root-partition on wifi

Asked by Igel Kun

In bug #2062501 and bug #2065106 users describe that their initrd tries to get their ethernet up before mounting the root-partition when it suspects that the root may be on the network. However, in both cases, the rd is only checking ethernet and not wifi. What happens when the root partition is on a network that is only reachable by wifi, in particular when requiring WPA authentication?

If there is a bug, you don't need a question as well

I think there's a misunderstanding since I'm not asking the same thing that the bugs are about.
Both bugs are about aoetools failing to detect that the root partition is actually local.
This question is asking: what if it wasn't local, but on Wifi? Please reconsider hastily closing the question.

Can you help with this problem?
