Ubuntu 22.04 - Wifi showing but not working
I am on Ubuntu 22.04 and always had some annoying connection issue but has been able to get them fix with sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager but since last update of NVidia Driver to nvidia-driver535 (proprietary, tested) it show that my WIFI is connected, but I am unable to use the browser, update, download package, nothing is working anymore.
In setting - WIFI it says that I am connected and the signal strength is Excellent
Note that I am using another computer for this post.

Why are you breaking up the commands? I'll make it clearer. There are 3 commands here
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf > /dev/null
sudo apt update
sudo apt -y full-upgrade

The first one is long but is to be ran as a single command.

Try that, seems you are missing your resolv.conf file so your system doesn't know where to get DNS. You can ping 8.8.8.8 which is Google's public DNS so routes and IIP are working

Do I have to start fresh with a new install (which I would like to avoid) or is this something that we can fix?

Would it be possible to re-install Linux without loosing anything and fix the missing file?
I booted up the ISO-USB that I used to install it and haven't see that option in to the install process. I cancelled the install.
Is there a way to do it?
Thanks

If you set the DNS to Google in the network GUI app on the desktop instead of DHCP, does that help

Getting a response
tee: /etc/resolv.conf: No such file or directory
to the command
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" | sudo tee /etc/resolv.conf
is weird.
If you try again, do you still get the same error?
If yes, what output do you get for the command
sudo touch /etc/resolv.conf
?

Here we go:

I assume "no such file".
Try

ping -c 1 ca.archive.

I looked at nano /etc/resolv.conf and it seems that I am connected via nameserver 8.8.8.8 and there are no other available information.
Also:
nano 01-network-
nano NetworkManager.conf is empty
Is there a way to get those fix?
Is there any safety concern?
If that can help helping me fixing the missing files and ensure my internet connection is safe:
cowboy@cowboy:~$ neofetch --stdout

Success, the system is back online!
Now you can do updates if you want.
You should also consider some of the solutions mentioned earlier like reinstalling resolvconf etc.

How do I know if my internet is safe now?
I re-installed :
sudo apt-get remove --purge resolvconf && sudo apt-get install resolvconf
sudo apt-get install --reinstall network-manager
My internet connection is still fine. But how do I know if it is secure?
Thanks

What values are now there in the DNS settings dialogue?
Does the file /run/resolvconf
If yes, what does it contain?
Remark: the crucial question is now: what happens after a reboot?

There are possibilities to automatically disable networking before suspend and re-activate it after wake-up, described on the internet.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Fred for more information if necessary.
