The flashrom package in Ubuntu has been copied from Debian, which in turn copies the software from http://flashrom.org/

Modifications to the official package should be introduced in http://flashrom.org/ and they will then be incorporated in new Ubuntu releases via Debian.

Is your software already incorporated in the version 1.2 of the flashrom software on http://flashrom.org/ ?

If you are referring to the flashrom package in older Ubuntu releases: Ubuntu is no rolling release. This means that packages in older Ubuntu releases usually are not updated any more, except for bug fixes. So the flashrom package on Ubuntu bionic is only 0.9.9

For bringing flashrom version 1.2 to Ubuntu bionic and older ubuntu releases, the recommended way is via a PPA.

Can you help with this problem?
