Updating the Audacity Repository

The APT repository `audacity` for the audio editor audacity is outdated by a LOT.
Is there a reason why it is stuck on version 2.4.2?
The current version of audacity is 3.3.3

In addition you have to take into account that Ubuntu is copying packages from Debian, and Debian does not have version 3.3.3 of audacity, either, see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/audacity
