Seeking Reliable Linux-Compatible Printer/Scanner as a Replacement for HP PSC1317

Asked by Hayley

I've been using an HP PSC1317 Printer/Scanner with my Dell 7020 PC running Linux. However, the printer has become unreliable, often stopping mid-job and wasting paper and ink.

I recently purchased an HP Envy 6020e as a replacement. While it prints images and emails, it struggles with documents from Libre Office, with lines missing or incomplete, which is problematic for legal work. Despite updating Linux, the issue persists.

I've also tried a Canon printer, which didn't work at all and was returned. I've read about potential driver issues, but updates haven't resolved the issue.

Can anyone recommend a Linux-compatible printer/scanner, preferably HP, that works reliably via USB, similar to the old HP PSC1317? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
