'invalid cd detected'

Hi,

I just downloaded Ubuntu 8.04LTS, burned the image to a disc, but get an error message every time the disk is launched, regardless of whether it's from within windows or if the disk is booted. The message is "invalid cd detected".

Any ideas?

At what speed did you burn the ISO to the disc?

My CD Burning software only goes at maximum speed, but the maximum speed of my drive is 24x. I've mounted the image using daemon tools as well, and when I launch from within windows, I still get the same error.

Did you check the MD5SUM of the image you downloaded with the correct one?

Hi Pramod, thanks for the tip, I checked MD5SUM, and the file I got was corrupted for some reason. All solved now!
