Cannot install Fragment Image Viewer

Asked by OneTransistor

I go to Software center and click on Fragment, then I log in and try to install (buy) it. The installation never ends.
If I run sudo apt-get update in Terminal I get HTTP 401 errors about private PPAs:

W: ... https://private-ppa.launchpad.net/commercial-ppa-uploaders/fragment/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/binary-amd64/Packages HttpError401

W: ... https://private-ppa.launchpad.net/commercial-ppa-uploaders/fragment/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/binary-i386/Packages HttpError401

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bits.

So I guess this applies to all apps that require purchase, including Steam.

I finally solved it.

I opened /etc/apt/auth.conf and changed the username.

The username stored there was my Yahoo mail username and I changed it to my Launchpad username (corneliuss).

It probably happened because I switched my email from Yahoo to Gmail for my Ubuntu One account.

This has happened to me too! Except I did not change email account! I had to change what was in the auth file to remove the -deactivatedaccount suffix to authenticate, even though my account was never deauthenticated!!! Either way, this username 'update' should be done automatically and not left up to the user to change themselves via config files! People could get very angry at not being able to access software they've paid for!!
