timekpr locks all users

Asked by adesso

Hi!

The situation is like this. There are 3 users - eg. user1, user2, user3.
User3 - the child - has a restriction 1 hour per day. User1 and user2 - they are admins (me and my wife), without any restrictions.

The problem - when user3 spends his time (1 hour) and the computer shuts down, there are no options for EVERY user to log into their accounts.

Even the shell gives - Permission denied.

Usually it helps to boot with live cd and uninstall timekpr. But this should be a solution.

What could be a problem?

P.S. Could the problem be because user3 normally is logging in without a password?

This is not the default or intended behavior. I have not seen this before. User3 has got a password assigned?

I am sad to inform you that timekpr has been discontinued. Perhaps you could try Nanny instead (http://projects.gnome.org/nanny/).

It is unlikely that this will be fixed, if it is not a problem with your set up. Sorry!

Do u mean that it will not work at all?

I also have another computer with timekpr, but everything works fine, even without the password for user3.

It is strange. Not sure that I need Nanny. It is not working at all =(
