Quality checks on module.

Asked by Vivek poddar

Hi,

I recently tested the "base_module_quality" module and I was suprised. Now, recently many reviewers and community members are talking of the quality of the modules but after running this quality check I saw that even core and standard modules like "Sales", "Crm" etc have scores not even closure to 80, their score lie between 50-60. Now can anyone tell me is this quality check is authentic and if not then why we have this module and if yes then we have really work hard to increase the module quality.

Hope you get my point.

Thanks and Regards!

Vivek,

The module is good, but after the quality check was made, there have been several further changes on official modules.

As a community, we are open to improve the quality of those modules and propose merges.

Thanks.

In openerp 7.0 release notes, we can see this:

base_module_quality: this was a developer tool which is not used anymore, since it largely replaced by a strong test suite ;

This module will be removed

Sadly :(

Hi,

I think it will be better to remove this module because it can never comply totally with the PEP8 conventions and hence can create the source for confusion. Therefore I agree with the Jeff.

Thanks and Regards!

You mean there is quality testing in OpenERP?

Can you help with this problem?
